Rep. Sears: Grant will ensure that our communities are in safe hands

Monclova Township, OH—State Rep. Barbara Sears (R-Monclova) today announced that Lucas County has been awarded a Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant worth $4,500. The grant is administered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and aids rural and volunteer fire departments that serve populations of less than 10,000.

“Our local fire departments provide a vital service to families by protecting the welfare of our community,” Sears said. “I’m pleased that Lucas County has received a portion of the grant funds so that we can better safeguard our homes and our livelihoods.”

The Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant provides 50/50 matching for the equipping, training and establishment of rural and volunteer fire departments.
