City of Akron and University of Akron Employees' Salaries Added to Searchable Database

April 27, 2001 COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions today released Local Salary data from 2008-2010 for the City of Akron and Higher Ed Salary data from 2010 for the University of Akron. Salary data from 2010 for the University of Toledo was also added.

Data from the City of Akron shows that 42 employees made over $100,000 in 2010, with the highest paid employee earning $265,972. The median salary was $49,018, with the city paying more than $112,600,000 in gross wages.

The University of Akron had 314 employees making over $100,000 and the highest paid employee received $410,000 in 2010.The total payroll for the university was more than $181,700,000.

The Local Salary database and Higher Ed Salary Database are one of five searchable salary databases including State Salary, Teacher Salary and Federal Salary, available on the Buckeye Institute's website. Since the website's launch on April 30, 2010, over 421,000 visitors from 525 Ohio cities have conducted more than 2,760,000 data searches.
