Applications to be available for Toledo fire civil service exam

The Toledo Fire & Rescue Department will accept applications for the next fire civil service exam beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Fire Administration building located at 545 N. Huron St. in downtown Toledo. The department is expecting to hire a class of at least 25 probationary firefighters in late 2011.

Applications will be available at the Fire Administration building during the following dates and times:

- May 7; 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- May 9-20; 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- May 12; 8:30 a.m.- 7 p.m.
- May 14; 8:30 a.m.- 1 p.m.
- May 17; 8:30 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Individuals interested in entering the fire service may complete an application in person at the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department or may find application materials online at www.toledo.oh.gov. Applicants are not required to have an interest card on file in order to apply for the fire civil service exam, however individuals that have filled out an interest card will be advised of the availability of applications. An interest card does not serve as an application and will not serve as entrance for the civil service examination. Test preparation materials will be made available to all candidates at the time of application. Applicants that have a passing score on the exam will be included in the eligibility list for future fire academy classes.
