100 trees and shrubs to be planted in honor of Arbor Day

This Friday, April 25th is Arbor Day, which will be celebrated in Toledo by planting one hundred native trees and shrubs at Bayview Park.

The tree planting will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is possible thanks to volunteers from the Point Place Business Association, Visions of Cullen Park and other friends and neighbors of the park.

This type of community effort is part of the Mayor’s T-Towns initiative, government and community joining together to make our community a better one. The plantings will improve the habitat for songbirds and other wildlife.

A scanned copy of the formal proclamation is attached to this email.

This is also a great time of year to remind area residents that the City of Toledo Forestry Woodlot sells mulch for $15.00 a cubic foot, they can be reached at 419-936-3010.
